The Senate has passed a resolution allowing members of the Upper House to attending sittings virtually.

Government Senator, Charles Sinclair, brought the resolution to the Upper House this afternoon.

The Motion allows members who are unable to physically be present to attend senate meetings via ICT framework. Senator Sinclair says this will not only alleviate challenges brought on by the COVID19 pandemic but other future disruptions which may occur.

He also says safeguards are in place to ensure the change in standing orders are not abused.
