Founder of the Caribbean Community of Retired Persons, CCRP, Jean Lowrie-Chin, is urging senior citizens to beware of online fraudsters targeting the elderly.
According to Mrs. Lowrie-Chin the fraudsters, posing as pastors are calling members of the senior citizen community asking for their WhatsApp numbers and promising to send them a link for a prayer meeting.
She says once they click on the link, the online fraudsters steal the identity of the elderly victims and send requests for cash to their contacts.
The CCRP founder says the fraudsters’ numbers are 347-480-9547 and 876-478-9345. She says at least 10 people have so far fallen victim.
