Voting is now underway by the over 1200 delegates of the Peoples National Party who are eligible to cast votes today in another internal election.

The election is to select a candidate to represent the party in St Elizabeth North Eastern in the next general election.

Businessman and a former MP Kern Spencer and attorney at law Zuleika Jess are trying to garner winning votes up to three this afternoon at the St Elizabeth Technical High School, STETHS.

General Secretary of the party Dr. Dayton Campbell says the Party’s Executive Committee approved the conference date on May 15, and a draft list was subsequently disseminated on May 25, this year.

He says a 7-day window was given for aspirants to review the list and indicate any amendments, corrections and objections.

Thereafter, a final list was produced he says and only groups that were deemed financial at the time of the announcement of the election date, which was on May 15 will be eligible to vote in today’s election,

Dr Campbell says both aspirants, and their teams, are fully aware of all the rules governing the selection conference.
