Councillor for the Sommerton Division in the East Central St. James constituency, Mark McGhann escaped unharmed last night when gunmen fired several shots into his vehicle.

Mr. McGhann says he and a co-worker were approached by a man with a rifle in Montego Hills.

Mr. McGhann says the windshield of the vehicle was extensively damaged with bullet holes. He says the bonnet of the car also has bullet holes.

The Councillor says he believes the bullets may have disabled the vehicle preventing him from driving away during the gun attack.

Mr. McGhann says no motive has been established but the Police have so far formed one theory.

Mr. McGhann says initial reports about his house being shot up is not true.
