St Lucia health minister Moses Jean Baptiste says work is underway to address staff shortage at the Owen King EU Hospital.
This, amid mounting concerns over the quality of healthcare services at the facility and the resignation of several doctors and the hospital chief executive officer.
The minister disclosed that the government is seeking to fill the gaps.
He says there are a number of Cuban professionals already in the island, and says work will continue with the government of Cuba to engage others.
Jean Baptiste also explained that the government is engaging with many of its international partners to address the issues.
