The St Thomas Police, are committing to ensure complete safety during Miss World Toni Ann Singh’s visit this weekend, despite concerns raised over a double murder in the Yallahs area of the parish last evening.

Head of the St Thomas Police, Superintendent Marlene Christie, says two men were shot dead by unknown assailants in the Easington community of Yallahs.

The incident happened just before 9PM.

She says the Police are yet to identify one of the victims.

Superintendent Christie says the victims are not from the community and she says the community is not known for such violent incidents.

Meanwhile Superintendent Christie says her team is now beefing up security for the arrival of Miss World Toni Ann Singh.

The 23-year old beauty is due in the island today for a short trip which ends on Monday.

She’s to visit her hometown in Bath, St Thomas, during her trip.
