The storage level at the Hermitage Dam has fallen to 61 percent amid declining inflows due to a lack of rainfall.

Data from the National Water Commission, NWC, showed that last week, the dam was at 65 percent of its 393 million gallon capacity.

The NWC says that has now fallen to 241 gallons.

The Mona Reservoir has also seen a decline in its levels, and now stands at 82 percent of capacity.

This, as Jamaica continues to experience rising temperatures and worsening drought conditions.

Several communities in St. Andrew are currently subject to water rationing implemented by NWC.

The restrictions began on Friday, July 3 and impact customers served by the Constant Spring Water Treatment facility.

Impacted communities are receiving water on an alternating 12-hour schedule; some throughout the day, from 6AM to 6PM, and others at nighttime, from 6PM to 6AM.
