A strong military-police presence is being maintained in the community of Rivoli in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.
This follows the fatal shooting of two men in an alleged confrontation with the police last Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as Marco Miller, also known as ‘Izzy,’ and Alex Phillipot, also known as ‘Toby’, both of Buck Town in Rivoli.
According to the police, a shotgun and a Smith and Wesson pistol with a magazine containing two 9mm rounds were seized from the scene.
Miller was one of the 17 defendants who were freed in the One Don/Klansman gang trial, which concluded last year.
Residents blocked the Bucktown road to protest against the fatal shooting on Sunday morning. However, the road was quickly cleared by the security forces.
A curfew, which has been imposed in sections of Rivoli, will remain in effect until 6 pm today.
The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM has launched a probe into the fatal shooting.
