Reports out of the Bahamas say surveillance footage contradicts a claim by two American women that they were raped by two Bahamian men on a beach at Pirates Cove Zipline and Water Park on Grand Bahama.

The women, who are from Kentucky, posted on social media and spoke to several US and international news outlets about the alleged incident on February 4.

They said they were disappointed with how Bahamian police conducted the investigation and that they were not offered rape kits.

But the police deny this, saying the women were offered rape kits after having earlier refused medical assistance.

Police also say two men were arrested in connection with the incident.

Those two men have since been fired, with the company saying their behaviour was beneath the standard required of employees of Pirates Cove.
