National badminton player, Tahlia Richardson, is among four athletes selected for the first ever Jamaica Olympic Association, JOA, Scholarship.
The others are national chess player Akeem Brown, national rugby player Shanae Gordon, and national hockey player, Kareme Hudson.
Recently the JOA announced plans for its initial Scholarship Programme, which fits into their holistic development of member affiliates and specifically, education in this instance.
Value of the scholarships is 500-thousand per annum, for three years in some instances, tenable at local tertiary institutions.
Richardson will be pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management at the University of Technology.
She says she’s quite elated being given this platform to further inspire persons and bring them to the sport of badminton.
Richardson praise the Joa for establishing the scholarship.
