Education Minister, Ronald Thwaites, is praising Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative announced by President Obama yesterday.
Under the programme, the US is setting aside approximately 70 million dollars for exchange and training for youth in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Minister Thwaites says the programme will benefit poor young people.

The programme will benefit up to 250 young leaders from around the region by next year.
Hundreds of regional youth will be able to visit the United States and access world-class training and resources to help in developing themselves and their countries.
