Tourism resilience is set to be a major topic of discussion at this year’s staging of the Jamaica Product Exchange, JAPEX, set for September 14 to 16.
The 36th staging of the event was launched on Monday at the Jamaica Tourist Board, JTB, office in New Kingston.
When asked if this year’s staging has heightened importance amid the string of natural disasters that have hit Jamaica recently, Chair of JAPEX’s Planning Committee, Nicola Madden-Greig, told Nationwide News that Jamaica is known globally for its ability to recover from shocks.

JAPEX 2026 will be held under the theme ‘Jamaica Reimagined’.
For the first time in 10 years, the tourism business event is set to take place in Ocho Rios, St Ann, at Moon Palace Jamaica Resort.
Over sixty buying delegates from more than 20 countries have registered to participate in the event.
The three-day event will see stakeholders participate in discussions surrounding artificial intelligence in the tourism industry as well as a trade showcase and networking event.
JAPEX 2026 will also see tours for international travel advisors at resorts in areas such as Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.
President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, JHTA, O’Brian Heron, says the event will benefit the local economy.
