In Trinidad and Tobago, the Government has launched a sweeping review of diplomatic passports and is set to claim one belonging to former prime minister Dr Keith Rowley.

Former prime minister, Stuart Young was previously asked to surrender his diplomatic passport.

According to the Trinidad Guardian, the move by the Kamla Persad-Bissessar administration was triggered after international partners raised concerns about the issuance and possible misuse of diplomatic passports.

Persad-Bissessar says a review found that hundreds of people were in possession of the travel documents without meeting the required criteria.

She said an internal probe found that 9-hundred-and-85 individuals held diplomatic passports, the majority of whom did not qualifying for them.
