Ride-hailing company, Uber is laying off roughly 10 percent of its workforce, totaling more than 3,000 jobs worldwide.
The company made the announcement on Wednesday.
It says the move forms part of a major overhaul, designed to shrink management layers and refocus spending on its core business.
The cut brings the staffing back to levels last seen in 2021.
Uber says the taxi and delivery firm had expanded quickly, but accumulated too many layers and small teams that slowed decision making.
The layoffs affect both managers and non-managers, however, Uber has not confirmed the locations most affected by the move.
