Tensions are running high this morning in sections of South East Clarendon following the killing of a JLP activist who was a Polling Division captain for JLP candidate-elect for the area, Pearnel Charles Junior.
Dead is Paul George Henry.
He was attacked by gunmen last night in the Rocky Settlement area of Clarendon.
Mr. Charles Junior says Henry was attacked moments after he had put up billboards in the constituency ahead of today which is nomination day.
Charles Junior spoke to our news center shortly after his Polling Division Captain was gunned down.
He says he’s devastated at the killing.
Mr. Charles is appealing for calm.

Meantime, the Police have confirmed the killing of Mr. Henry.
However there’s no word yet from the Police regarding a possible motive for the slaying.
Mr. Charles Junior says he plans to file a complainant with the Political Ombudsman and the Police about political intimidation in the constituency.

When contacted this morning, Mr. Charles Jnr’s political opponent, the PNP’s Patricia Duncan Sutherland said she’s unaware of any acts of political intimidation in the constituency.
