The West Indies will be vying for their second straight hold on the ICC Twenty20 trophy and their third overall should the tournament get underway in Australia, from October 17 to November 15.

Former captain of the West Indies, Darren Sammy, says there’s no vacancy for the role of coach of the regional side so he has no interest in applying for that job.

Sammy skippered the Caribbean team to two World Cup titles in  2012 and 2016 and he believes his experience would be valuable to the team in a mentorship role.
