State Minister for Works in the Office of the Prime Minister Everald Warmington says the government will ensure that roads in need of patching will be repaired within 48-hours.

The issue of bad roads is often at the heart of protests in several communities across the country.

In his contribution to the Sectoral Debates in the House of Representatives yesterday, Minister Warmington says the government is aiming to make his portfolio very responsive to the people.

Minister Warmington says the Government will ensure that the National Works Agency will be able to perform its functions.

He says the Ministry will be getting rid of the bureaucracy at the NWA that hampers roads being repaired in a timely manner.
