President of the National Water Commission, NWC, Mark Barnett, says customers in Hagley Park Road in St. Andrew will start to receive relief in their water supply starting on Monday.
Mr. Barnett says that’s when work on the pipes that supply those areas will be completed.
Mr. Barnett says the works being done around the country to improve water supply should be completed for the festive period.
Meanwhile, the NWC received a temporary rate increase from the Office of Utilities Regulation, OUR, because the Water Commission failed to provide requested information.
Public Education Specialist at the OUR, Elizabeth Bennett Marsh, says the regulator couldn’t make the same concessions for the Jamaica Public Service Company because of stricter guidelines surrounding the light and power company.
Both were speaking yesterday on Nationwide @5 with Cliff Hughes and Kemesha Swaby.
