The National Water Commission, NWC, is reporting, that despite instances of rainfall and improved levels at some of its catchments facilities water restrictions will remain for several communities.

The NWC recently relaxed its water restrictions for communities served by the Constant Spring and Hermitage systems in the corporate area .

This was due to significant improvements from recent rains resulting in a recorded 100-percent capacity.

However NWC says, low levels of rainfall are still being experienced for the parishes of St. Ann, St. Thomas, Portland and St. Mary .

This they say will require continued restrictions for those parishes.

Communities served by the Hope and Mona Water systems in the Corporate Area, will also remain under restriction.
