Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the passing of his newborn son in a heartbreaking statement on Instagram.
Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodriquez recently gave birth to a twin boy and girl.
The jointly signed statement reads, “”It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away.”
The couple describes the loss as “the greatest pain any parents can feel.”
The statement continues, “only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
The family ended the statement by asking for privacy at what they’re describing as a very difficult time.
Beneath the post, scores of fans and supporters expressed their condolences and support to the couple.
Rodriquez and Ronaldo have been dating since late 2016 and the pair had their first child together in 2017.
The couple announced the news that they were expecting twins via Instagram in October 2021.
