Assistant Commissioner of Police, Clifford Chambers has told Nationwide news that a well known dancehall entertainer is a senior member of the feared G-City gang which operates out of St. James.

Though not naming the entertainer, ACP Chambers says The G-City gang is at the heart of several violent crimes in Western Jamaica.

ACP Clifford Chambers says the police are working hard to totally dismantle the gang.

He says the gang has over 15 active members, and has its tentacles in various industries in the West.

On Wednesday, one of the gang’s top tier members, Omar Troy Johnson, was sentenced to 15 years after he pleaded guilty to murder.

ACP Chambers also sought to provided additional details on how the gang operates.
