The Jamaica Scorpions are on the verge of their second defeat in this season’s regional four day cricket championship.

They closed Friday’s third day of their game against the Windward Islands Volcanoes on 233 for 9 needing a further 182 for victory.

Aldane Thomas made 55, Abhijai Mansingh, 50, and Derval Green, 48, against Shermon Lewis 4-wickets.

Scores in the match so far, Windward Islands Volcanoes 217 and 299, Jamaica Scorpions 101 and 233 for 9.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force reached 106 for 3, needing a further 306 to win against the Guyana Harpy Eagles at the Brian Lara Academy.

Darren Bravo, 63, and Jyd Goolie, 14, are the not out batsmen.

Earlier, the Harpy Eagles declared their second innings on 247 for 6. Kemol Savory led the batting with an unbeaten 101, while Leon Johnson made 74 and Matthew Nandu, 33. Bravo and Bryan Charles each bagged two wickets for the Red Force.

And over at the Queens Park Oval, The Leeward Islands Hurricanes, beat the Barbados Pride by 2-wickets.

Chasing 246 to win the Hurricanes reached the target in 49-point-2 overs.

Kieran Powell anchor the batting with 104, With Jahmar Hamilton making 55.
