The Government is mum on whether it will be asking consultant to the Local Government Ministry, Basil Waite, to resign.
Waite, a former Government Senator, was yesterday arrested and charged by the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency.
The former People’s National Party Youth Organization President has been accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Government sources told our news center yesterday that Waite could be asked to resign because he’s facing a criminal charge.
But today Information Minister, Sandrea Falconer, declined to comment on whether the Local Government Ministry will be parting ways with its consultant.
