Two additional persons have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the nation’s total number of confirmed cases to 5-hundred and 98.
In a statement, the Health and Wellness Ministry says the two new cases are females from St. Catherine.
It says one is a 26-year-old from the Portmore-based Alorica Call centre and the other is a 35-year-old imported case.
The Health Ministry says the patient recently returned from New York under Jamaica’s controlled re-entry programme.
In the meantime, it says another patient has recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4-hundred and 5.
Jamaica’s recovery rate is now 67-per cent.
According to the Health and Wellness Ministry, Jamaica now has 97 imported cases, 2-hundred and 18 cases that are contacts of confirmed cases and 27 are local transmission cases not epidemiologically linked.
It says 2-hundred and 36 are related to the Alorica Call Centre and 20 are still being investigated.
