The country’s Covid-19 positivity rate is just over 24 per cent. In its latest update, the Ministry of Health reported a positivity rate of 24.5 per cent.

The positivity rate follows the confirmation of 280 new cases. They come from 1,550 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Eighty-three of the new cases are from Kingston and St. Andrew.

No deaths were reported. More than 3,000 people in Jamaica have died from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

There were 201 recoveries reported in the update. One-hundred and twenty-three people are hospitalised with Covid.

Thirty-four are moderately ill, 12 are severely ill and four are critical. Eighty-five per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
