Jamaica has recorded 435 new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours. That’s according to the Health and Wellness Ministry’s latest update.
This brings the total number of positive cases to 81,394. Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the majority of the new cases with 120.
In addition, 1,345 samples were tested. This represents a positivity rate of 31.2 per cent.
Meanwhile, the update shows that six more people have died from Covid-19 complications. The deaths occurred over a 28 day period between August 24 to September 20. This brings the total number of deaths in the island to 1,809.
The number of active cases stands at 27,480.
In the meantime, 1-hundred and 87 recoveries were recorded. This brings the number of recoveries to 51,544. The number of hospitalisations to date now stands at 670. Also, 137 are moderately ill, 97 are severely ill and 50 are considered critical.
