Member of Parliament for South West. St. Catherine, Everald Warmington, is repeating his call for a reduction in the emoluments given to Commissioners of the Electoral Commission, in line with what he insists is the part time nature of their work.

The emoluments are pegged to the remuneration of a Puisne Judge. A Puisne Judge is currently paid an annual salary of $22 million.

But Warmington moved a motion in the House on Tuesday, in which he claimed that the work of the commissioners is not as time consuming or demanding as a Puisne Judge.

Warmington is also calling for the Director of Elections to be removed from the panel of Election Commissioners.
