Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the Barbados Government Information Service, Prime Minister Mottley has a mild case and she has indicated that she’s doing well.

The statement says the Prime Minister’s doctors have advised that she will remain at home until they determine otherwise.

Deputy Prime Minister, Santia Bradshaw, will perform the functions of Prime Minister during this period.

Prime Minister Mottley is the latest regional leader to test positive for the virus.

Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, confirmed last week Thursday that he had also tested positive for COVID-19.
