Minister of Local Government, Desmond McKenzie, is tightening restrictions on outdoor entertainment events as of August 24 due to the previous flouting of COVID-19 restrictions.
Speaking in the House of Representatives this afternoon, Minister McKenzie, says these venues will only be allowed to operate on specific days.
He says promoters for such venues must apply through the local municipal corporations at least 15 days in advance.
The Minister also says all such events must include COVID-19 guidelines in their promotional material.
The allowed capacity of the venues have been revised down from two-hundred and 80 to two-hundred and 30.
Thirty of the individuals must include event staff.
Minister McKenzie also announced that several rivers and beaches will be closed nationwide due to COVID-19 breaches.
