Trade Unionist and Opposition Senator, Lambert Brown, says the COVID-19 pandemic is highlighting the redundancy of many jobs available in Jamaica.

He was addressing a virtual townhall hosted by the Labour Ministry under the theme ‘The World of Work: COVID-19 The New Normal’.

The forum was in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment, Sports and Gender and the Office of the Prime Minister.

He says the pandemic has also emphasized the importance of essential workers.

Meanwhile, Spokesman for the Society for Future Policy Leaders, Themba Mkhize [MUH-KEE-ZEH], says there’s need to develop a culture of production, especially for the youth. 

He says this will create opportunity for equality.
