Jamaica’s Covid-19 positivity rate continues to hover around 30 per cent.

In its latest update, the Ministry of Health has reported a positivity rate of 29.9 per cent. The positivity rate follows the confirmation of 310 new cases from the 3,494 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of positive cases recorded since the start of the pandemic to 138,110.

Ninty-nine of the new positives are cases reported from Kingston and St Andrew, while St James and St. Catherine recorded 83 and 44 new cases respectively.

Four new deaths have been recorded. More than 3,000 people in Jamaica have died from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

There were 122 recoveries reported in the update.

One hundred and twenty-four people are hospitalised with Covid, 29 are moderately ill, five are severely ill, while five cases are considered critical.

More than 80 per cent of those who are hospitalised are unvaccinated.
