The government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with deposit taking institutions for the roll out of the National Identification Systems, NIDS, pilot project.
The MOU was signed this morning at Jamaica House in St. Andrew.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Andrew Holness during his presentation sought to reassure Jamaicans that their data will be protected.

The roll out of the NIDS pilot project is set to get underway during the summer.
The pilot will be conducted across Kingston and St. Andrew. NIDS is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.
