Three hundred and sixteen new Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
That’s according to the Health and Wellness Ministry’s latest update.
The new cases come from the testing of 1,772 samples. A positivity rate of 29.8 per cent was recorded. Majority of the new cases are Kingston and St. Andrew with 97 while St Catherine follows with 61.
There were no new deaths recorded. More than 3,000 people have died in Jamaica from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
There were 146 recoveries reported in the update.
The number of people hospitalised with Covid has increased to 130. Thirty-two are moderately ill, five are severely ill and four are considered critical. Eighty-four percent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
