The country’s COVID-19 positivity rate has fallen to single digits, and stands at 8.6%.

That’s according to the Health Ministry’s latest update.

The positivity rate follows the testing of 466 samples, of which 39 returned positive results.

The majority of the positivity cases recorded were in Kingston and St. Andrew, which recorded 17 cases, Clarendon and Westmoreland both recorded 5 cases.

38 cases are under investigation. 348 Jamaicans remain in home quarantine.

Two new deaths have been reported.  An 80 year old man from Kingston and St. Andrew and an 88 year old man also from the parish.

Both deaths occurred this month.

83 recoveries have been reported.

The number of Jamaicans hospitalised with COVID-19 has fallen to 64, 18 are moderately ill, 2 are severely ill, while 1 is considered critical. 

More than 96-per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
