The country has recorded 630 new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours.

That’s according to the Health and Wellness Ministry’s latest update.

This brings the total number of positive cases in the country to 59,88.

1,398 samples were tested, representing a positivity rate of 41.6 percent.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the majority of the cases with 90.

Nine Covid-19 fatalities were also recorded between August 13 to 15.

Three of the deceased are from St. Catherine, 5 from Kingston and St. Andrew, and one from Clarendon.

The island’s Covid-19 death toll now stands at 1,320.

The number of active cases stands at 9,858.

There were 60 recoveries in the update.

This brings the number of recoveries to 47,540.

478 persons have been hospitalized, 112 are moderately ill and 35 are in critical condition.
