The Government says it will be acquiring equipment from Cuba to strengthen the agricultural sector.
Minister without Portfolio in the Agriculture Ministry J.C Hutchinson says Cuba has a vast array of agricultural equipment that can drive agriculture in Jamaica.
He says the Ministry is looking to bring in some small processing machines to help farmers utilize crops that normally go to waste.
The Minister was delivering the keynote address at a demonstration of agricultural implements, manufactured in Cuba.
He said the crops will be made into juice, and then delivered to a breakfast programme for primary schools.
He added that the watering of crops can also be made easier with technology from the Cubans.
Mr. Hutchinson says the Cuban greenhouses are affordable, with all the advancements that country has made in agriculture.
