The Jamaica Customs Department collected nearly $177-billion last fiscal year, exceeding targets by 9 percent.

That’s according to Commissioner of Customs, Major Richard Reese.

However, Major Reese says Customs missed its net collections target by $206-million.

The Commissioner says the lower than expected outturn is due to outstanding deposits which were not finalized for the previous fiscal year.
