Co-Chairman of the Economic Programme Oversight Committee, EPOC, Richard Byles, is strongly recommending the government not drag out the calling of General Elections.
His recommendation comes against the backdrop of senior members of the Portia Simpson Miller Administration hinting that an election is likely to be called before the end of 2015.
Mr Byles says the worst thing the government can do is keep the country in limbo indefinitely.
And Mr. Byles is advising whichever party that forms the next government, to continue implementing the IMF programme.
General Elections are constitutionally due by the end of next year, but there’s intense speculation the country could go to the polls before the end of the year.
