Education Minister Ronald Thwaites says crucial areas within the education sector will not be affected by his Ministry’s decision to re-direct $1 billion from its budget towards a wage increase for public sector teachers.

Minister Thwaites announced the $1 billion contribution last week.

A number of stakeholders including the Opposition Spokesman on Education, Kamina Johnson Smith have called for clarity regarding exactly where the money will be coming from.

Speaking to our news center this morning, Minister Thwaites says crucial areas in his Ministry will not be affected by the contribution.
