Education Minister, Karl Samuda, is expressing confidence in the Ministry’s blended approach to reopening the new school year.
The Minister says the multi pronged approach will ensure quality education for all students.
The Minister says the approach was selected through wide consultation with all stakeholders.
He says over 20 thousand teachers have been trained to help in implementing the new approach and more will be trained.
Mr. Samuda says the blended approach will also assist in addressing concerns regarding social distancing and additional teachers in schools.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister says plans are far advanced for schools to be reopened come September 7.

Meanwhile, Mr Samuda, says the government has developed a new Learning Management System to assist with both teaching and teacher training.
He says the system will allow both teachers and students with co- morbidities which put them at greater risk if they contract COVID-19, to learn and deliver lessons from home.
However, the Education Minister says all parents and guardians must inform the Ministry if they seek to adopt the home schooling approach.
