The US Embassy in the nation’s capital has resumed regular operations following an incident this morning morning where a white man threw a suspicious package over the embassy’s perimeter fence.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Clifford Blake says the security forces moved swiftly to handle the situation which caused the shutdown of the US Embassy building in Kingston this morning.
The man, who reportedly speaks with an American accent, was swiftly apprehended by security personnel and taken onto the Embassy compound for questioning.
The incident caused a major security scare, with dozens of armed JDF and police personnel, forming a ring around the Embassy.
