Consultant psychiatrist and therapist, Dr. Wendel Abel, is linking the death of a toddler who was left in a car for hours by her father, to the forgotten baby syndrome.

Dr. Abel says the situation is more common among men, when they step outside of their regular routine.

Dr. Abel says the father could have genuinely forgotten about the child.

He says the demanding nature of the police line of work, may have added to the father forgetting the child was in the car.
