The police are warning against excess speeding along the PJ Patterson Highway, following a multi-vehicular crash on the thoroughfare yesterday.

The crash has left several people battling for life in hospital this morning.

Head of the Constabulary’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, PSTEB, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Gary McKenzie, says at least five people were critically injured in the crash.

Speaking on Nationwide at 5:00 ACP McKenzie said, the severity of the injuries can lead to a fatal outcome.

McKenzie went further to explain that the PJ Patterson Highway is a high speed zone.

He explained that civilians continue to breach the Traffic Act along this particular highway.

The PSTEB boss added that despite police presence along the highway, motorists continue to break the law.
