The Electoral Office of Jamaica, EOJ, says the recounting process began this morning for all 63 constituencies.
EOJ Director of Elections Glasspole Brown says the final count should be completed by tomorrow afternoon.
Mr. Brown noted that there have been no change in results at this time:
In a statement last night announcing the results, the EOJ said the Jamaica Labour Party secured 49 seats while the People’s National Party won the remaining 14 seats.
According to the EOJ, that’s the result of the preliminary counting of ballots in all 63 constituencies.
The overall voter turnout was approximately 37%, compared to 48.37% in the 2016 General Elections.
