Opposition leader Mr. Golding says the next PNP administration will make it easier for prospective tertiary students to access funding from the Student Loan Bureau.
Mr. Golding was speaking during his contribution to the budget debate in the house of Parliament yesterday.
Mr. Golding says the government took an appropriate step in reducing the number of guarantors needed for a loan.
However, he says the next PNP administration will eliminate the need for a guarantor entirely.
The Opposition Leader also promised to bring paternity leave legislation to the house.

In the meantime, the Opposition leader is calling on his fellow legislators to initiate the process to make Jamaica a Republic.
He says it’s time to establish a local head of state.
According to Mr Golding, the important process to repatriate the nation’s sovereignty began in the 1962.
But he says that’s since stalled.

He called on parliamentarians to support a Private Members Motion proposed by North West Manchester Member of Parliament Mikael Phillips.
The motion proposes a referendum on replacing the Queen as head of State pinned to the next local government elections.
