Golding: Opposition MPs Were Delinquent in Chairing Most Parliamentary Committees Last Term

Former Prime Minister Bruce Golding says the Opposition People’s National Party, PNP, MPs were delinquent in chairing most of the parliamentary committees last term.

During Tuesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Andrew Holness noted that the backbenchers in Parliament would be required to work in Parliament.

He says during this parliamentary term, all statutory agency reports will be sent to the proper committees for review.

Mr. Golding says more is expected from the Opposition.

Mr. Golding says the Opposition was more focused on the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee, PAAC.

Meanwhile, the Former Prime Minister says there’s a need for better oversight of policy.
