Jamaicans should brace for increased showers and thunderstorms with occasional gusty winds over the next day or two.

The advisory by Weather Jamaica follows heavy rains and winds last night across sections of the island.

According to Weather Jamaica, two tropical waves currently affecting the eastern Caribbean islands is affecting the weather over Jamaica.

It says satellite imagery indicates deep convection currently offshore the south coast of Jamaica.

Ten hours ago, Weather Jamaica tweeted that sections of Jamaica should continue to receive showers that could be heavy enough to trigger flash flooding.

It’s advising Jamaicans to leave home today with an umbrella as more showers are expected.
