The Government of Jamaica has approved the US 3-billion dollar acquisition of Columbus International by the parent company of LIME, Cable and Wireless Communications, CWC.

The acquisition means CWC has formally taken control of Flow Jamaica.

LIME’s rival, Digicel, has opposed the deal arguing that it will undermine competition in the telecommunications sector.

Minister Paulwell outlined one of the concessions he secured from LIME before giving the CWC/Columbus deal the go-ahead.
