Govt Slashing Conch Cess

Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Karl Samuda says the Government will be reducing the cess on conch.

Minister Samuda says this move is being made in order to facilitate more investment in the conch industry.

Minister Samuda says it should be noted that the Agriculture Ministry will not be changing the allocation for the conch industry this season.

Minister Samuda says next year the Ministry will make changes to the regime used to determine how much funds is invested in each sector in the Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry.

Minister Samuda was speaking during a tour of the Rainforest Seafood facility in Kingston today.
