Minister of Land, Water, Housing and climate change says, nearly half a billion dollars was spent on trucking water in the Corporate Area over the last year, due to drought conditions.

Robert Pickersgill told Nationwide news today that some sources of water have become unreliable.

Mr Pickersgill says the problem is compounded by pollution.

He said his ministry is pursuing all avenues to mitigate the current drought, with several programmes underway or completed.
